About a month ago, on April 21st, I was a victim (survivor!) of sexual assault by a stranger. Since then, I have taken it to the police, and there has been an investigation underway. Now, the case is going to the DA of Solano County, and he has the power to take the case, or not. If he takes it, it will go to trial, and I’ll have a chance to get the man who did this and, possibly his friends who helped, off the streets and keep them from doing this to other people. IF HE CHOOSES NOT TO TAKE IT, IT’S OVER.

Someone I know made this website: http://justiceforjanedoe.com/ with details of the case, resources for victims, and most importantly, two petitions. If you would be so wonderful to just go take a look, I will be really grateful. Also, if you take that even a step further, and share the link and the petitions whatever way you can (reblog it, share it on Facebook, etc.), I would be so happy.

I’m sharing this website to so many people for two reasons. One, It would be wonderful for people to sign the petition and for this guy to be brought to the justice he needs to be brought to. And two, probably the more important, THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. I was not the first rape victim, nor will I be nearly the last. It needs to be publicized, and people need to know. I can’t tell you how many people have come out to me as previous victims because I have come out to them. There would be so much more healing if we could just make this a big time issue.
